In Search of the Old Ones: An Odyssey Among Ancient Trees by Anthony Fredericks

This 2023 book takes us out of New England to places across the United States, where the author invites us to join him in his visits with some very old trees. From baldcypress in Louisiana, to bristlecone pines in the Great Basin, to the majestic redwoods of California, we are invited in words and images to visit with old forests and ancient trees. From the book: "Forests are a permanent part of the world as much as they are a permanent part of our lives. We walk between their splendid trunks, gaze up into their canopies, and admire their spread across multiple landscapes. They are exemplars of social networks, congregations of individuals that work in concert for a common good and a common survival."
